Shrink multipacks can be created in various ways. Depending upon whether the multipack is for distribution or retail sales, the film and wrap style will differ. In addition, the size and shape of products make a difference in choosing if the multipack should be created using a tray, a pad or film only.
Material & Style
Products can be multipacked using various materials and wrapping styles. Depending on its purpose, film can be clear or printed. Polyethylene (PE) film is the most common shrink material due to its low price and strength. PE film is ideal for shipping and distribution packages. Higher clarity, retail-ready, polyolefin films are more expensive, but still cost less and more attractive than chipboard and/or corrugated boxes. PVC is the least used material, but is sometimes required in pharmaceutical packages.
